Term 2 Message from ACC Victoria Executive Principal
It is an absolute joy to witness the continued growth, innovation, and rich learning environments developing across our ACC Victoria schools. The Lord is indeed so good to us. I am constantly encouraged by the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our students as they step into new opportunities, and the commitment to partnering by our families. God is moving faithfully across our campuses, and it is a privilege to share several exciting milestones and updates from across ACC Victoria from this past term.
Momentum is building for ACC Swan Hill as we prepare for a great future. We recently held a wonderful community launch evening, sharing the vision for our secondary years of Years 7, 8 and 9 commencing in 2027. Families were able to hear about our planned new facilities and explore the school site including the newly completed music room, which will, with the Lord’s blessing, undoubtedly foster the creative talents in our students.
We also celebrated a major milestone for ACC Casey with the opening of the new site at Pearcedale Road. This beautiful location provides excellent new accommodation for the Casey students and staff, while also serving as a fantastic hub for the growing number of ACC Victoria Online staff and their ever increasing school. We were blessed to have with us our A/g CEO of Christian Education Ministries, Mr Jeremy Kwok, who travelled to Melbourne especially to open the new site, and to later meet with the ACC VO staff.
It has also been a significant season of leadership and compliance. ACC Benalla recently had the privilege of hosting the Christian Schools Australia (CSA) regional principal meeting, contributing to the deep collaboration across Christian schools outside of the metro area. Additionally, the school opened its doors for the State regulatory body, the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA), to make the school review visit, a vital process that validates our commitment to regulatory excellence and continuous improvement. One of my favourite things to do when I visit ACC Benalla is to attend their Assemblies and Chapels, where celebration of student achievement and the worship is just a delight to see in action. During my last visit I was able to see Mr Dennis O’Brien, President of the Benalla Business Network, present gift vouchers and certificates of appreciation to two students who had contributed to their community by participating in busking at a recent event in the heart of the city.
This week I was able to spend a few days at ACC Echuca, seeing some of the great learning happening in classrooms. I also was able to attend the Echuca-Moama Secondary School Debating Competition, where ACC Echuca competed for the first time. The Junior and Senior teams did exceptionally well, winning their respective heats against talented and experienced teams from much larger schools. It was a delight to be there and celebrate their well earned wins. Supported by family, friends and staff, both teams worked hard, showing fantastic support to each other, and are a credit to their school community.
As we look toward the term break, I encourage you to join us in giving thanks to our Saviour Jesus for these incredible blessings mentioned above and to pray for a safe and restful break for all our students and staff, and for safe travels for all our families getting away this July.
God bless
