Secondary news - a historic step: Celebrating Growth, Faith, and Community

As we reflect on the beginning of this academic year, we are reminded of God’s enduring faithfulness to our school community. We have already been blessed with a season of remarkable growth, innovative partnerships, and joyful fellowship.

Welcoming Our New Teaching Staff We are incredibly blessed this term to welcome three outstanding new educators to our teaching team: Rowan Walker, Ryan Wells, and Tristan Wilson. Already, our school community is greatly benefiting from the wealth of teaching expertise and passion they bring to their respective classrooms. Beyond their strong subject knowledge, it has been truly wonderful to witness the genuine, positive connections they are rapidly building with their classes. They have quickly established engaging and supportive learning environments that reflect our school’s core CHRIST values. We are excited to see the continued impact of their guidance on our students' academic journeys this year, and we ask that you please join us in making them feel warmly welcome.

Serving the Local Community

Live4Life Christ calls us to be active, compassionate members of our wider community, and our students have truly embody this through their engagement with local community activities. Live4Life is a community-led youth mental health and suicide-prevention initiative that supports young people, schools and communities to build understanding, resilience and help-seeking skills. Last year, our school proudly took part in the first rollout of Teen Mental Health First Aid for our Year 8, 9 and 10 students, equipping them with the knowledge to recognise signs of mental health challenges in themselves and others, and to know when and how to seek help. This is an ongoing initiative, with our senior school continuing to participate in Mental Health First Aid training regularly, helping keep conversations about mental health open, relevant, and ongoing. In 2026, we are excited to establish our first Live4Life Crew, giving students opportunities to lead mental health awareness, engage in community events and promote positive, stigma-free conversations about wellbeing. Through Live4Life, our school is strengthening connections between students, families and the wider community, supporting early intervention, suicide prevention and a culture of care and belonging. ACC Benalla is proud to partner with Live4Life to support the mental health and wellbeing of our young people and our wider community.

Pioneering the Year 11 Collective Timetable.

As our senior school grows, so does our commitment to providing diverse and enriching educational pathways. We are thrilled to announce the successful implementation of a collective timetable across several Victorian ACC schools, delivered via an online platform for our Year 11 cohort. This innovative collaboration allows our students to access a broader range of subjects and connect with peers from other educational communities, all while remaining grounded in the pastoral care and Christian foundation of our own campus. It is a wonderful example of educational fellowship in action.

Making a Splash

Years 7-9 Swimming Program Our Year 7 to 9 students recently completed an intensive, week-long swimming program. It was wonderful to see students stepping out of their comfort zones, building their water safety skills, and encouraging one another. This rigorous week culminated in our much-anticipated House Swimming Sports. The day was a spectacular display of House spirit, healthy competition, and God-given athletic abilities. Congratulations to all who participated, and a special thank you to the staff and House Captains who made the event such a resounding success.
